Poem accepting wedding proposal at Disney World

Who do you want the poem written for: My soon to be fiance, Corey Crawford
Why do you want the poem written: We are purchasing the Wedding package with the 3 poems. He and I are going to use one each for our vows, and the 3rd I would like to give him as a surprise after he proposes to me in Disney World on October 15th. Sorry for the rush!!

What are the key messages you would like to send: Well, I am having a bit of trouble, because I don't want this to sound the same as the vows I am going to have you do as well. The over all message is that he is a gift from God to my son Mathew and I. He has told me that he feels the same about us. You see, this is a second marriage for both of us. We were both hurt and mistreated in our previous marriages. Corey had a wall built up that he said until me, no one was able to break down. We met through an online dating service - and neither of us expected anything from it but to meet new people to "hang out" with. We clicked instantly over the phone. One of our first few conversations lasted for at least 6 hours!!! I will NEVER forget the Sunday afternoon that he asked me to "be his girlfriend"! This was very hard for him to do and I know that it meant a lot to him - and me as well! Since then things have progressed quickly, but everything feels right and we believe that it is because we are blessed and guided by the Lord. Maybe the poem could start out something like...You have made me the happiest woman in the world tonight by asking me to be your partner in life! - I don't know, just an idea! I want this to be as meaningful to him as the symbol of the ring he gives me will be to myself. I have a 2 year old son, Mathew, and he and Corey have bonded like you wouldn't believe! Corey is already an amazing Dad and I can't wait to bless more children with such a wonderful father! This is important, he has taken on a roll that he didn't have to and embraced it with all he has in him! He is truly an amazing Man! There is nothing I like more than seeing the two of them going to sleep on the couch with Mathew in his arms! Corey and I have something I believe few people in life ever get to experience. A true partnership. He allows me to be myself and express my opinions and values them as I do his. We have fun together doing exciting things, but also we have fun even riding in the car together! I enjoy just being with him - even if nothing is being said! I even love to hear him breath when he is falling asleep - one of the most calming sounds I've ever heard. I feel safe with him and am looking so forward to being his wife and the mother of his children. I really enjoy taking care of my family and I am so thankful that he is giving me the opportunity to do this for the rest of my life! Also, Corey has a wonderful family who has also embraced Mathew and I with open loving arms and for this I couldn't be more thankful! I want him to know that for all of these reasons, no matter where he is physically, I, his future wife, will always be by his side - not in front, not behind, but next to him - loving him and supporting him along our journey.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: One way to show how much he has embraced fatherhood is when my son had a bit of an accident on his sock! - that was a pretty funny moment! Also, he was the first person that my son actually said the words "Love You" - or yuve you to! Also, Corey teases me about being clumsy! Also love to play wrestle and tickle him!
Do you have any other comments or thoughts : Corey works for Federal Security and due to the hurricane he is away in Mississippi. By the time he gets this he will have been gone a month - we are blessed that we still get to take our trip to Disney World! He is scheduled to be gone as long as Christmas, but we don't know for sure yet! I am a VERY emotional person and know that I may have made it harder on him when he had to go, but it is only because I am totally and completely in love with him! I have been doing a lot better and I want him to know that I appreciate the sacrifices he is making for our family and our future and I am here to support him - always!

| Look, I know you hate surprises, so I think I'll keep my wings tightly furled, but I did just want to say "thank you", after all, you've just proposed to me at Disney World. So, without further ado, I graciously accept, I will feel very honored to be known as your wife, you've made me the happiest woman in the world, truly, just by asking me to be your partner for life! And of course, I'm quite taken aback, but I've still got the great sense to say "yes", because I know we're destined to be together, I know that we're destined for a lifetime of happiness. Truly, I think you're a gift from God for Mathew and I, so gratefully, I will turn my eyes to the heavens above, because I know I've been blessed to have shared you, I know that I've been blessed with your love. And look, I know that life isn't always that easy, and for both of us, this is the second time around, but I'm so glad I didn't stay on that roller-coaster, because with you, it's a real and true love that I've found. And I don't want to talk about what has gone before, because you know what? We can't change a single day, but I'm so glad your walls came crashing down, because those boulders would have got in the way. But I'll never forget the Sunday afternoon you asked me, if I recall correctly, you asked me to be your girlfriend, and I know this was hard for you to do, it was for me as well, but I've always found the future starts where the past has it's end. Since then, things have really progressed quickly, sorry, there's those wings again, because I've literally soared, and everything feels so right, so perfect, so wonderful, it's because we are blessed and guided by the Lord. And I wanted to thank you for bonding with Mathew, I think of you both and my chest swells with pride, because I know he couldn't have chosen a finer father, I know he couldn't -even if he'd tried. I can't wait to bless more children with such a wonderful father, because you've embraced the role with everything that you can, there is nothing more I like than seeing you two fall asleep together, Corey, all in all, you're truly wonderful, an amazing man. And I think I could say a lot more right now, but I think I'll save that for our wedding speech, because I know what we share is truly precious, it can't be learned and it's something you just can't teach. So, Corey, just know that I love you very much, in truth, I love you with all my heart and soul, for with you in my life, I know we're complete, yes, you are the one that makes us completely whole. And may the Lord's love become a part of this ring, so that I'm reminded of you both, every time I look at my hand, because if I said I was lost, but now I'm found, I think those are words you will surely understand. |
