Full Name: Kim Tripet
Who do you want the poem written for?: My parents 35th wedding anniversary.
Why do you want the poem written ?: I am 28 yrs old and I've always known that my parents had a life beyond raising children. Through the years they have given me unconditional love and support and I wanted to tell them how much I admire and aspire to their "kind" of relationship. To make them laugh, to make them cry and know that their love is what makes things in life worth living. Family and each other.
Key Messages: My mom and dad after 35 yrs are more in love now than
ever, that their love is so unusual and very magical" soul-matey" They are a team
and that raising a daughter was typical nightmare... and now I can see that
because of the solid foundation they provide, I am now capable of carrying that
through the next generation.( I had a miscarriage at 5 months and now am having
trouble conceiving and I know they feel the pain as well)
Memorable Moments: Every sat night my parents, grandmother Rita( who is a
really pip) my husband Chris and I go to dinner, and inevitably the oldies
station is on the radio or cd's are playing and while we're cooking Rita and my
mom are singing and my parents always make time to dance in the kitchen. Kenny
Roger's Through the Years is their song.
We also had a family business, and talk about long hours and team work. My mom
owned a flower shop and I did the gift baskets. We were very successful and the best times were late hours after the store closed. My poor father works as a
mailman his famous line is " there's a guy on my mail route" we tease him about,
he would come after work and help my mom and I with coffee (hazelnut) deliveries, inventory and make us laugh.
Being together and laughing at the dinner table defines what family is about.
Other Comments: My parents met in high school and have never been apart. I
would like your poem to reflect that through the heart ache and obstacles and
sacrifices they had to endure in the last 35 years, they still turn to each other
daily and have a special romantic relationship and boy do they make time to
laugh!. I think your writing is a valuable source for people like me who can say
how I feel out loud but could never verbalize what you create on paper.I look
forward to talking with you.
Style: a celebration, of what life is about/
Package Type: Deluxe
Last thoughts: The four items of hazelnut coffee and the her store named
Judi's, their wedding song and my father's quirky line would make it personal. Chris my husband has been a source of many laughs and he is always right there for anything they need, big or small projects, the right words to make us laugh and always a hug.
They are Bob and Judi and they are going to love what you can do.! Thank you.
| Two soul mates once met in a high school, and ever since you've never been apart, and I've got a few thoughts in my head, I need to share a few words from the heart: It does take something rather special, to be married 35 years and still be so in love, it's because that love was born in the Cosmos, it's seed of creation comes from the heavens above. Because you two are truly "soul-matey", you are obviously two souls joined as one, and in my life, you've been my sunshine, on every day, you are my morning sun. I'm so grateful for everything you've done for me, through the years it's been unconditional love and support, and you've also shown me some important lessons in life, and there's one especially that I'm grateful that you've taught. You see, I aspire to your kind of relationship, it's one where the mail is always on time, it's one where you sing and dance in the kitchen, even when you can't get your words to rhyme. I've always known that you've a life outside of me, but that's what makes your love all the more whole, and I think you've been wonderful role models, yes, you've certainly played the perfect parent's role. Your love for each other is so unusual, it's magical, it is like a shining star, and I've never really, really said thank you, I've never said just how wonderful you really are. Raising me was the typical nightmare, but you never let me spoil your dream, and on every challenge you worked together, you proved that you two truly are a team. You laid some pretty solid foundations, on which I find myself building upon, and your love for each other has been my inspiration, as your love for me has always brightly shone. The next generation will share your values, and I know we've got our hopes, dreams and fears, I also know that you feel my pain as well, but you've always been there to wipe away my tears. Gee, how I love our Saturday nights, with the oldies station or CD's always playing, we're cooking, everyone's singing, with you two dancing, (a breeze), gently swaying. And "Through The Years" is your song, and I think it's aptly named as well, because through the years your love keeps growing, and if it could be bottled, it would surely sell. Maybe we should have put it in our gift baskets, but I guess we were busy enough just with the flowers, I remember Dad helping mom and I with the deliveries, and he'd still make us laugh (after working all hours). "There's a guy on my mail route", those words are now world famous, you know, but not as acclaimed as Judi's hazelnut coffee, (I wonder where hazelnut coffee trees grow?). Being together and laughing at the dinner table, really does define what being a family is all about, and I want you to know that I'm proud of you both, and I can say that without a shadow of a doubt. Because your love has endured all, and it's a great message for the world to hear, and I wanted you to know that I'm proud of you, and I hope you've heard that message loud and clear. And your wedding song has been your anthem, and through the years your love has steadily grown, and I'm just so grateful for all the lessons that you've taught, and for all the love and kindness that you've shown. So, Happy 35th Anniversary, Bob and Judi, that's really what these words are for, here's to you, Mom and Dad, I love you, and here's to at least another thirty five more. |
