What is your name : Roxsanne Carter
Who do you want the poem written for: Alfie Paine(son) "Alfie Boy"
Why do you want the poem written: 1st Birthday milestone to keep (you wrote one for his sister)
What are the key messages you would like to send: How precious he is to us, how we desperatly wanted him to be a boy (brother for Elle) but never really thought we would, How the 1st year has gone and how good it has been
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: two weeks over, had to be induced, Easter Friday was decided (our Easter bunny) and he was born, active labour kept me on the move and Alfie?s entrance was very quick and sudden. We couldn?t believe it when the midwife said you were a boy, all we can remember was these two huge brown eyes (like mums)and lots of red hair (like dads)
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: Was ill for four months and spent a lot of time in a motorised swinging chair this brought Alfie comfort and he slept when he was in it. Changed milk to soya and within hours Alfie looked like a happier baby and started to smile and sleep a bit more. Alfie has a sweet tooth and loves custard and yoghurt and makes himself kech when he had potato and veg. Once he is determined he never backs down - has temper like his hair. Alfie loved his walker he loved to be on the move and have company so where we went Alfie was sure to follow. loved listening to music. When you started crawling you would sneak and eat the dogs food and play with their water. You love having a bath with elle and you soon learnt how to kick and splash to make us laugh. You sat up at an early age, first words were, mama and dada soon followed. We would say "alfie big hugs and you would put your head on your chest as if to cuddle. We would shout out "superman" and your arms would go up in the air as if you were flying. ? you?ve learnt how to headbut and stick out your tongue. The 1st year has flown by quickly and you?ve already started taking steps, now our family is complete.
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): happy, loving, senimental, (something he will cringe at when he is older)
Please choose which package you would prefer : Economy
Would you like a copy of the handwritten drafts: No
| Your first twelve months have been simply wonderful, and my! How quickly that time has flown by, and we just wanted to tell you what you mean to us, or at least, we wanted to give it our very best try: You see, we really wanted another baby, but we wanted a boy, when all is said and done, and we're all just so very proud of you, we couldn't have wished for a better son. Actually, you took your time in arriving, (they say all good things come to those who wait), and now we know why it's called Good Friday, as that's when our Easter bunny arrived (2 weeks late). You kept me on the move during a very active labour, but I don't think you could wait to land on planet Earth, we'll never forget your huge brown eyes, full of hope and love, it certainly looks like you've inherited your parent's worth. We couldn't believe it when they said you were a boy, but for four months, you were quite ill for a while, you spent a lot of time in a motorised swing chair, but when I switched to Soya you started to smile. But now we know your favorite is custard and yoghurt, and potato and veg, you really struggled to swallow, but you also loved your walker (and company), so everywhere we went, you were sure to follow: We think your determination and temper match your hair, and you've been known to display the odd fiery mood, but we also know that you love listening to music, and yes, you're quite partial to the dog's food. You really love having a bath with Elle, you make us laugh with your splashes and kicks, your first words were mama (and then dada), you've discovered your tongue (and out it sticks). We would say "Alfie big hugs" and as if to cuddle, you'd put your head onto our chests, we would shout "Superman", and your arms would go up, it's as if you know you are already the very best. And now you've started to take your first steps, so now you're our mobile bundle of joy, just know that you've completed our family, and that we're very proud of you, Alfie Boy. We just wanted to say Happy First Birthday, I guess that's really what these words are for, here's to you, Alfie, you're a star and we love you very much, here's you taking more steps with us, for evermore. |
