Who do you want the poem written for: Husband
Why do you want the poem written: We have been married for five years and we never got to have a wedding because of an emergency surgery that needed to be placed. We are finally going to have a wedding and are going to renew our vows. I wanted to make this unique because of all of the hard times that we have encountered through our marriage.
What are the key messages you would like to send: I would like to mention something in there about what a great husband he has been over the last five years. How much I truely love and adore him. He has given me challenges I never thought I could accomplish and then made me follow through with them. Because of him I now own my own business and am on my way to being very successful. He also has taken on 3 children that do not belong to him (we adopted our niece and nephew a year ago). He has really given up a lot to help raise these kids that do not belong to him. I would like mention of my father who just passed away 2 weeks ago. He was suppose to give me away. My wedding is only in one month so you can imagine how difficult this has been due to the fact it was all of a sudden. My husband has helped me through these difficult times and has supported my decision to ask my step-father to give me away. I believe my husband is truely a blessing from GOD!
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable
moments that you would like to share: The night he purposed to me he sang a song to me before he purposed. We had gone out for the evening and alot of my family and friends were there. I never suspected anything because I was wanting all of us to go out for a while. My husband completely surprised me when he purposed and then sang to me in the middle of this nice restaurant and bar at the Holiday Inn they had karaoke that night and we use to go up once a week for it. He sang Wonderful tonight by Eric Clapton. Another unique thing about our marriage is that we were married on April Fools Day. We are again getting married on April Fools Day five years later and having a big church wedding.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: My husband is a pushover and pretty much gives me what I want. My family is always teasing him about that. Everyone is always teasing him about how he has to put up with all of my family also because they are kind of a pain in the butt.

No Pushover, No April Fool
| Five years ago, we never got the chance, a surgeon's knife cut through our wedding day, but now, five years later, I'm much wiser, and that one line leaves so much to say: You see, I am now speaking from experience, and I know my husband's true and honest worth, and I feel like I've been blessed from above, because I've married the finest man on planet Earth. And of course, we've had our share of ups and downs, but life is rarely, if ever, a rose filled dream but through it all, we've stuck together, we've proved to the world that we truly are a team. I want you to know how much I adore you, in truth, I love you with all my heart, my very soul, and with you in my life, I feel complete, yes, you are the one that makes me completely whole. You have given me great challenges to face, and I never thought I'd accomplish them on my own, but your love has been my light, my inspiration, and I'm very grateful for all the love that you've shown. It's because of you I'm on my way to success, it's been your love that has inspired me to succeed, and now, standing proudly here before you, I realize that your devotion is all I will ever need. You've also taken on three beautiful children, and I think of them and my heart swells with pride, and I know they couldn't chosen a finer father figure, I know they couldn't - even if they'd tried. I'm sorry that Dad couldn't be here to give me away, but his love burns on, inside of me, and it's burning bright, and I wanted to thank you for helping me during this difficult time, it's not the first time you've put the words to Wonderful Tonight. Because I'll never forget the night you proposed to me, and trust me, despite the date, I'm no April Fool, it's because of you, I walk taller, in fact, I feel about ten feet tall It's about now that I should start looking skywards, and thanking the good Lord in the heavens above, because I know I've been blessed to have shared you, I know that I've been blessed with your love. I know you get teased about being a pushover, but let me tell you, you've pushed over this girl's heart, and I just wanted to say "I love you", but in truth, I didn't know where to start. I also know that you have to put up with my four brothers, and I know that at times, they've mercilessly teased, but take it from the only girl in that family, I'm very happy with my choice, in fact, I'm more than pleased. Because I know that we're together for a reason, I also know that it was God that brought us together, so in the meantime, just know that I love you very much, I solemnly promise me to you, forever and ever. |
