A5: I always tell him that he is my 21, just like Blackjack, that's my perfect match! I want to thank him for loving me the way he does. It's taken me a long time to appreciate his gift to me of love and sometimes I don't enjoy the full affect of it because of protective walls that I am trying to let down. I want to thank him for bringing me to love and know the Lord. I look forward to the days ahead with him, and am excited about our new home purchase (our first home together) and the future of children running around in it. There are so many ways that the Lord was trying to tell us we belonged together. We worked for the same company in two different states- me in Texas, he in California, I left the company in Texas to work for another in California, two years later he also came to that company and of hundred or so departments, he applied for a job in mine not knowing I was there...low and behold, his desk was next to mine. Four months later I shared a dream I had of him, and the rest is history. I thought I knew what love was....I didn't know anything about it until I fel in love with James.
Please tie the following into the poem if possible...these are excerpts from my wedding vows to him. "If the Eagle is the symbol of freedom born out of True Love, then I am one wing and you are equally the other." In you, I have found the one my soul loves."

A6: The night he proposed to me was so memorable. Although I knew that the question was going to be popped in the near future, I didn't know when specifically and where. It almost didn't happen that night because I didn't want to take the walk to the location he wanted to propose. After a small argument, I finally gave in.

An Angel Sings
| To celebrate our first year of marriage, I thought I'd write you a little rhyme, because I just wanted to say thank you, just thank you for such a memorable time. I had built up my protective walls, brick after brick, stone after stone, but you've halted that construction, and I'm no longer battling life on my own. Because you have scaled my fortress, and you have captured me from within, how can I ever say thank you, where on earth should I begin ? You are my very own twenty one, the best hand that was ever dealt to me, when fate gave me a glimpse of our future, there was only happiness that I could see. I know that I've taken my time, to appreciate your gift of love, but now I know who to thank, and I need to thank the heavens above. We belonged together, The Lord tried telling us in so many ways, because He could see our future, because He could see these halcyon days. Because you haven't just brought me your love, which in itself is such a wonderful thing, you've also shown me how to love The Lord, you've taught me to hear when angels sing. I can picture so many happy scenes, as we travel down life's well worn track, and we'll have so many happy memories, but still, there'll be no looking back. Because with you the future shines, it always looks so very bright, you are my Star of Bethlehem, you are, indeed, my guiding light. I imagine our children running free, of course, they're safe and far from harm, they will have inherited your good looks, (and of course, some of their mother's charm). And that Eagle is our symbol of freedom, and together we make up its wings, because in you, I have found the one my soul loves, through you, I can hear when our angel sings. |
