| Ladies and gentlemen, can I have your attention please? Because every now and then in life, there's opportunity you should seize. And that moment is upon us, after all, 50 years, Mom and Dad were wed, and we've got some thoughts on our mind, yes, there's some heartfelt words that need to be said. Firstly, I think we'll begin by looking skywards, and thanking those in the heavens above, because we know we've been blessed to have shared you, we know that we've been blessed with your love. Mom said she didn't like Dad, that was when Dad first asked her out, in truth, she said that she couldn't stand him, but soon found what true love is all about. And as they say, and as you know, time went on and we all became part of history, because five simply wonderful children followed, and we all became one big, happy family. And now there are 12 Grandkids and 5 great Grandkids. My! Look how your mighty oak has grown, and we'd all like to thank you for your kindness, we're very grateful for all the love that you've shown. You both have such big and magnificent hearts, and at times, they are simply too big for your chest, but of all the parents in this world, we know we're lucky, because we have two of the very best. I recall you taking in cousins, aunts and the Vietnamese family, and when I say take in, I meant they lived with us, but you always opened your door to anybody in need, you've always accommodated with the minimum of fuss. Mom is naturally a very giving person, she is the type of person who goes above and beyond, Mom is always there for you, and if you need anything, she'll fix it (with one wave of her magic wand). She would keep and take my kids to school, she's always in the kitchen, baking cookies, meals and pies, I can remember Mom starting before Thanksgiving for Christmas, she's always cared (and you can see it there, it's in her eyes). To sum up, Mom is one fine terrific lady, but Dad is naturally a very giving person as well, and I just wanted to say I love you both very much, I hope by now, you can surely tell. Dad is the type of man who has a big heart, I remember him taking "the five" shopping on Christmas Eve, he waited outside the shop and just gave us the money, so that we all had a dream in which we could believe. Dad would also take us on vacation during our Christmas break, Mom would come too if her caring duties allowed, and I just wanted to thank them both, Mom, Dad, you really have done us proud. Now Dad, you may not have changed many diapers, and the household chores, to you, were a bind, but you were always there when we needed you, I've never known of a father who's even half as kind. And together, we've shared so many wonderful memories, in truth, there's just too many to individually list, just know that each and every one is simply precious, and there's not one that we would have missed. Our parents have always loved each other very much they've stuck it out through thick and thin, but always together, and they share a love that is simply eternal, a love that's destined to last forever and ever. We are so grateful to have you as our parents, and we do love you with all our hearts and soul, for you are the ones that have made us complete, you are the ones that make this family completely whole. Thank you mom and thank you Dad, we'd like to thank you for everything that you've taught, you've always given us great advice and encouragement and we're very grateful for your unconditional support. Because we've never said thank you properly before now, we've never told you just how wonderful you really are, but if our love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. And you both have big hearts and large ears, and when asked, you'll always lend a helping hand, and those hearts are filled with so much love, so much kindness, and those ears are the type that always understand. And we'd like to say Happy Fiftieth Anniversary, but these lines can all be summed up just like this, because your marriage has been truly exemplary, so, congratulations on 50 years of pure wedded bliss! |
