Who do you want the poem written for: Helen
Why do you want the poem written: it's her 80th Birthday!
What are the key messages you would like to send: What a wonderful person Helen is! She has strength, compassion, a kind and gentle heart, no complaints, a zestful life, amazing grace, and lots of faith. About 13 years ago, she lost her husband, and she has leukemia, and gone thru chemotherapy. Please don't put this information into the poem, but, this will give you some type of indication of the lifestyle she has had. And the enormous amount of strength she has. She has 3 children, 6 Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Grandchildren. She is the matriarch of the family, she is giving them all a firm foundation. She has a great sense of humor. She is tenacious, but in a good way. One of the things that her family says to her "in her craw". She is like the Red Hat / Purple Dress woman -- ageing with ease, but her own charm and wit. She is ageing gracefully and defiant at the same time. They would like the poem to reflect what a wonderful woman, mother and friend she has been. Focus on the love we have for her and what an example of strength, love, hope and faith that she sets for the entire family. They want the poem to be about her, but globally from the entire family. This is in recognition of her 80th birthday and how much they love her. She is know by: Helen, Mom, Grandma and GG (for Great Grandmother)

| Hello, our wonderful mother, these words are just for you, because we're proud of who you are, and we're very proud of what you do. And we just wanted to say "we love you", but in truth, we didn't know where to start, so we thought we'd share a few feelings, and give you some words, they're straight from the heart: Firstly, we'd like to begin by looking skywards, and thanking those in the heavens above, because we've been blessed to have shared you, we know we've been blessed with your love. You truly are such a wonderful person, one of the finest to ever walk this planet Earth, and we just wanted to thank you for being you, Helen, you're proved your true and honest worth. You have such strength but gentle compassion, steadfastly, you are always so very kind, you've a gentle heart, you never complain, with yourself last, others are always front of mind. You have this amazing grace, a zest for life, and you seem to have such a magnificent spirit, you have lots of faith and your motto is: "Whatever you do, live your life, be in it" And you've faced many trials and tribulations, but they have never wiped the smile from your face, and you've been such an inspiration to us all, thank you Helen, you've made our world a better place. Truly, you are the matriarch of the family, and my! Just look at how your mighty oak has grown, 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, we're all very grateful for the love that you've shown. And that love has been a true and solid foundation, and it's something on which we can all happily build, you've shown us the path to a rich and rewarding life, a life in which we can all feel, truly fulfilled. You have a wonderful sense of humor, so you'll know what we mean by "in her craw", because you're also tenacious, but in a good way, so it's never a matter of trying to even up the score. You're a red hat and purple dress woman, aging with ease, but with your own charm and wit, so graceful, but defiant at the same time, actually, we think you're getting younger, bit by bit. Because all of your bits live on inside of us, because of you, we are who we are today, and we just wanted to say "you're wonderful", but we do have a few other things to say: Because Helen, Mom, Grandma, GG, these are all names for our shining star, and we've never truly spoken our feelings, we've never said just how wonderful you really are. You're a simply marvelous woman, mother and friend, and we'd like to thank you for all the roles that you've played, we'd like to thank you for all your love and kindness, and for all the happy memories that we've made. You've set such a fine example for everyone of us, your love has been this family's inspiration, it's light, and with your hope, faith and resilience, we know that it will keep on burning bright. So we just wanted to say Happy 80th Birthday, we guess that's really what these words are for, here's to you, Helen, and your bits, you're truly wonderful, and here's to our everlasting love for evermore. |
