| They say everything for a reason, or at least that's what gets taught, but I've tried adding up the logic, and today, it comes to naught. Because Russ was such a special guy, and we too, share your pain, such a tragedy for a life to be cut so short, but Russ didn't live in vain. Because we'll always treasure our memories, and treasure them against the tides of time, we'll use them as our solace, as we look for the reason in the rhyme. Russ was like a son to us, he was loved, we've so many memories in our hearts, he was a magical and complex person, and his splendid whole was the sum of his splendid parts. Unfortunately, in recent years, we'd gently drifted away, but we'll never forget those wonderful times, when we went to watch Russ play. He was the best football player Sayre ever had, and we never missed a game, come rain or snow, and it was really such a pleasure, to watch him grow and grow. We attended his graduation, and he looked so cool in his tux at the dances, he worked so very hard to get his education, he certainly took every one of his chances. He was just like an eagle, he grew and then he just spread his wings, took every opportunity that was offered, gladly accepted what life brings. He married a beautiful girl along the way, and his three children now miss him so, they're too young to know that he is part of them, but he'll still watch out for them as they grow. It was a privilege to share your son, so we'd just like to say thank you, I know that this is a difficult time, just know that my heart is breaking too. And I can see Russ looking down upon us, still warming us today with his love, I can see Russ as that soaring eagle, soaring high and soaring up above. |
