What are the key messages you would like to send: We knew each other briefly before getting married, and for our first year anniversary I will be in Iraq. I have been here my whole year of marriage (married on Dec. 5th, 2004, left for mobilization station on Dec. 6, 2004). I want to thank him for his faith in me, our love, our marriage, and our future.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: I love dancing with him, I love how people believe we are celebrating when we are together, I love when he sings to me (in Spanish - I don't always understand the words, but I understand the sentiment), I love spending time with our families...
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: I never knew how much he completed me until we were apart. One of our favorite songs is "Forever" by destiny.... We spoke for hours our first night together... sitting on the porch drinking wine... just talking

Forever
| As you know, we were married on December 5th, and on December 6th, I had to pack my bags, and all my childhood dreams of a honeymoon, well, they were torn apart, all tatters and rags. Our first year of marriage has been difficult, for only one reason, we've been kept apart, but it's only mere distance that separates us, we're still joined together, heart to heart. I wanted to thank you for our marriage, I wanted to thank you for your faith in me, because ever since that first night on the porch, well, my world's been a much better place to be. So tonight, I'll be looking skywards, and I'll thank those in the heavens above. because I know I've been blessed to have met you, I know that I've been blessed with your love. I know that we'll spend eternity together, and yes, with you, I'm even looking forward to getting old, because I'm so looking forward to our future, to our future stories, as yet unwritten and untold. I love how people think we're always celebrating, little do they know we're just happy being together, and I love it when you sing to me in Spanish, I don't always understand the words, apart from "Forever". And I'm looking forward to our many dances, because this girl is simply helpless under your charms, and I know the place I want to spend forever, well, that's with you, held safely in your arms. I never knew how much I truly loved you, but I do love with all my heart, my very soul, for with you in my life, I'm complete, you are the one that makes me completely whole. And I'll never forget that first night together, we talked all night on the porch, drinking wine, and I knew then that I'd love you forever, but I thought I'd save that until the very last line. |
