A poem for a work friend on her forthcoming wedding, they haven't known each other long, but have a special bond.
Dear Allen, Thank you for replying so soon! Let me see what I can add...I actually haven't met Matt as yet and Fiona is a work friend. She is really good-hearted and has been a great friend and even though I haven't known her for a long time, I know she will be a friend for life. She works in television (in publicity) and has been very supportive of me (as a TV writer) and always has great enthusiasm. She didn't think she would ever find anyone (even though she's only 27!) and when Matt came along it was like a bolt out of the blue for her. As I said earlier, it was a whirlwind romance but they seem perfect for each other. I guess I wanted to somehow in the poem reflect how much I feel she deserves this happiness as she is a special person. She sees good in everyone and I want her to know how much it means to me that she is as happy as I am married to my husband (Arnie). Allen, I hope this helps but let me know if there is anything else. I am trying to wrack my brain as to what else to say but it's okay if it's fairly general - as long as she knows how happy I am for her. Thanks again and I love what you are doing. I am going to make a donation to the RSPCA and WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) which I am a member anyway, but I think it's great. | You are really good hearted, and you've become a great friend, its funny where friendships begin, its where other journeys end. And when winds blow hard, and you throw in a little chance, lonely ships get blown together, and get caught in a whirlwind romance. And then their destiny awaits, as those winds start to calm, and those ships head for harbour, somewhere safe and far from harm. And I know you've found happiness, (I told you it wasn't too late !), just know that I am so very pleased, that you've sailed on your wind of fate. |
