| Dad had his eye on Mom, and with a handshake took a chance, this journey of a lifetime, started with a dance! You've set such a fine example, you've shown the world the way, because you've honored every word, that you spoke on your wedding day. You have been our grounding rock, a jewel of love set in a foundation stone, you've always been there for us, and we've never once felt alone. Dad's job involved travel, I guess you could say we liked to roam, but no matter where we lived, you always made it feel like home. You taught us life's navigation skills, and as we sailed from place to place, you filled our hearts with faith and love, and gave us the training to run our race. We have so many happy memories, so many wonderful rhymes, family get togethers every year, either summer holidays or Christmas times. Now fifty years together, can't believe that time has gone so fast, you've taught us how to love, and how to make a marriage last. Fifty years of sharing the trials and joys you've faced you can see those wonderful years, lovingly etched and gently traced. And as these lines come to an end, you've shown us what love is for, so here's to you Mom and Dad, we'll love you for evermore. |
