God's Call
| Hello, my wonderful parents, these lines are just for you, because we're proud of who you are, and we're so very proud of what you do. You have been simply marvelous parents, I had the childhood of many a dream, because I was surrounded by your love, and you two are, truly, a remarkable team. You've been a constant source of inspiration, you've always been there for the kids and I, and I'm going to try and say thank you, and I'm going to give it one good try. Now, life hasn't always been that easy, and you've weathered a storm or two along the way, but you've found more strength with every challenge, and you've rose to every occasion, come what may. I respect and honor you both so very much, and I'm so thankful for everything that you've done, you've inspired me every step of the way, you've been my warmth and light, my morning sun. And God's call has been upon us, the whole family has moved from state to state, steered and directed by His wisdom, never once blown by the supposed winds of fate. Remember when Mom led the song service? And my sister fell off the pew? Mom had to take her to get stitches, but then again, Mom's always know what to do. I remember when we weren't good in church, Dad would give us the look to get us to behave, not quite the look he had on his face, when he accidentally fell into that grave ! I'm full of admiration for my Mom, she's learned to play the organ and sing, she takes care of all the church's needs, and attends to our every single whim. Dad was always at the kitchen table, studying what God's words had to say, you've both been good examples to us all, teaching myself good lessons and how to pray. And you started in a little powder house building, and you cleaned it and started a church anew, and with your love and dedication, it simply grew, and grew, and grew. And that church has been like us, it's been nurtured by your tender loving care, and we're blessed to have you in our life, with all of your wondrous love to share. And we just wanted to say thank you, thanks - you've really stood the test, and of all the parents in this world, you should know that you're the best. So here's to you, Mom and Dad, that's really what these words are for, thanks for everything, you've been wonderful, and here's to many, many more ! |
