Half The Mom
| I have a dream that one day, I will have a daughter of my very own, and I hope that one day, she too, will be grateful, for all the love that she's been shown. And I hope that I'm half the Mom, as you have been to me, you've been my mentor, my confidant, my friend, in fact, you've cared for me so wonderfully. How I love our shopping and movie excursions, popcorn and the same movie twice in a row, because we have so many fun times together, there's a few things that you need to know. You see, you are so very selfless, you never think of yourself as number one, and how I love our endless conversations, how I love that our talking is never done. You've supported me in fulfilling my dreams, and you've always been there by my side, whether it's unpacking, laundry or stocking the fridge, I couldn't have picked a finer support - even if I'd tried. You're so funny and so creative, I was always the best dressed at Halloween, and who else would let you convert the garage, for the best darned recital you've ever seen ! And no matter how independent I can be, you're the first one I yearn for whenever I'm in need, and you're still the center of my life, because with your support, I'm destined to succeed. You've always been there for me, and I guess you will be for evermore, and I just wanted to say thanks, that's really what these words are for. And many miles may separate us, but distance can't keep our spirits apart, because we're two souls joined as one, we're joined together at the heart. You have this magical sixth sense, you know how I feel just by my "hello", it's nice when someone knows you so well, and I really appreciate it - don't you know? We've walked part of our journey, with many, many miles yet to come, and I'm just glad that I've got you by my side, because you are indeed, a remarkable Mom. And if I'm even half the Mom, (and I say this as I set my new sails unfurled), then without a shadow of a doubt, I'll still be the second best Mom in all the world. And with you I simply feel complete, with you, I feel so wonderfully whole, and I promise that I will love you beyond forever, and I'll love you with all my heart and all my soul. |
