What are the key messages you would like to send: We started dating in march, 1998. we got engaged in dec of 2002, married on march 13, 2004. she saw me at my workplace (my first job ? Winn-Dixie) and decided she would work there because of the guys (me supposedly). She got a job there and we hit it off. We started hanging out in January of 1998 and started ?officially? dating in march 98. I was a bagger, she was a cashier. I would always joke around with her and she would love that. Whenever either one of us had a special job handed down from management to do, the other would always sneakily find an excuse to do a special job around the other as well. I was a shy kid, she was not at all. I finally got enough courage one day to ask her to give me a call to hang out. I wrote a note on a winn-dixie receipt and left it on her car ? it said: ?enjoy yourself. You can call me if you want to xxx-xxxx.? The second sentence was written in such small letters you could barely make out what it said. I was shy. We eventually both got fired from that job at the same time because we never clocked out for lunches and the store got fined for it (we were minors at the time). We started going on dates after that, first date was to Pirate?s Cove ? a putt-putt place on beachside. After that summer, I went to college (UCF) and she was a senior in high school still (an hour away). It was a rough year, but we managed to get through it. The next year she went to the same college and moved down the street from me. As my birthday present that year, she bought me a puppy (Dachshund/Chihuahua mix) that we named Reesey. That was the best gift EVER. She has always done from the beginning what would be best for us. It seems like she envisioned us staying together forever since day 1. We call each other old farts because we enjoy doing things that older people enjoy doing. We do not like to go to clubs or parties or anything. We would rather sit on the porch with friends and enjoy a nice bottle of wine. Our honeymoon we went to Savannah, GA. We had a great time. anything I have ever done, she has supported me 110%.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share:
1. I proposed to her using Reesey (the dog she got for me). I had her meet me at a park by where she worked at. I tied a not to Reesey?s collar saying ?Will you marry me? Me, not the dog? When she pulled up and started walking to me, I had Reesey run up to her. She saw the note and opened it. She had a priceless smile on her face.
2. Last year, we took a trip to New Orleans on labor day weekend. We had heard how so much fun that New Orleans was so we were excited. When we started walking out of the hotel onto Bourbon St, I noticed something strange. I said to Crystal, ?How come I do not see any girls out there?? We found out that it was gay mardi gras weekend. We have nothing against gay people, we have plenty in the family, but they were just staring at me. It was one of the most uncomfortable times in my life. I am not the type to hold hands when walking with Crystal, but that weekend we were holding hands 24-7 (she loved it).
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: she is a worrier, I am very laid back. I always tell her, ?Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it doesn?t get you very far.? we complement each other so well, where I am weak in one area, she is strong. she is a health teacher, she has taught me to be healthier in my life, showing me a good diet and workout routine. I always hated tomatoes but she loves it that she made me crave them now. we just purchased our first house, we love it. We have spent a lot of time working on it. I love her cooking she is very creative, I am not. She has always said she would love it if I would write her a poem, I guess I am doing the next best thing.

| You first saw me at Winn Dixie and you had an idea, you thought you'd work there because of the guys, supposedly for me, but from the first time I saw you, well, I knew I was the one that had won first prize. I was a bagger, you were a cashier, I would always joke around and you always loved that, we'd find excuses to do "special jobs" around each other, you were outgoing, I was the shy kid (a matter of fact). I finally got up enough courage one day to ask you, I left a note on your windscreen asking to give me a call, don't forget, this was a very shy kid doing the asking, so I admit, the second sentence was written rather small. So, we hit it off from the very beginning, and we started hanging out in January of 1998, and it only took us a couple of months to realize, well, we realized here was a potential soul-mate. We eventually both got fired from that job at the same time, we never clocked off for lunches and the store received a fine, but we started going on more "serious" dates after that, and I discovered a treasure, a love that could be all mine. So quite aptly, on our first date we went off to Pirate?s Cove, quite romantic for a putt-putt place on the beachside, after that summer, I went to UCF and you were still in high school, it was a rough year (not helped my that hour's long ride). But we managed to get through that year, and the next year you moved down the street from me, you bought me a puppy, Reesey, for my birthday, and truly, that was the best gift there ever will be. I tied a knot to Reesey?s collar saying ?Will you marry me?" "Me, not the dog? I'll never forget the priceless smile on your face, and ever since, life has been simply wonderful, I'd like to thank you for making the world a much better place. So, we started officially dating in the March of 1998, we then got engaged in December of 2002, and then we were married on March 13, 2004, and the finest words I've ever spoken were: "I do". Our honeymoon we went to Savannah, GA, and quite naturally, we had such a great time, but the honeymoon is literally, far from over, because you're the one that puts the reason in my rhyme. I'll never forget our trip to New Orleans on labor day weekend, if you recall, I was very keen to keep holding your hand, how we were supposed to know it was the Gay Mardi Gras? We've nothing against them (but it wasn't as we'd planned). You're a worrier, I am very laid back, but I think I'm right about that rocking chair, however, we do complement each other so well, where I'm weak, you're strong, we're the perfect pair. You've taught me to be healthier in my life, I always hated tomatoes but now they're things I love, and I know I've been blessed to have met you, I know that I've been blessed by the heavens above. We've just purchased our first house and we love it, we have spent a lot of time working on it, making it our home, and I know that this old fart loves your cooking, just one of the reasons, this old fart will never want to roam. You said you would love it if I would write you a poem, but I know that you're very creative, and I am not at all, but in anything I have ever done, you've supported me 110%, and I am just so very glad that you made that initial call. Because I know that I love you with all my heart, in truth, I love you with all my heart and soul, for with you in my life, I feel complete, you are the one that makes me completely whole. From the start, you've always done what was best for us. it seems like you saw us staying together, forever, since day one, and old fart, I just wanted to thank you for being you, in truth, I'd like to thank you for everything you've ever done. I know we do not like to going to clubs or parties, we would rather sit on the porch with wine and friends, but after our first year, I know I'll love you forever and ever, long after this earthbound journey ends. And maybe I've never really told you before, maybe I've never said just how wonderful you are, but if my love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. And I just wanted to say Happy First Anniversary, I guess that's really what these words are for, here's to you, you're truly wonderful, and here's to our everlasting love, for evermore. |
