A 10th Wedding Anniversary of a couple who originally met 20 years ago, they didn't see each other for ten years then reunited and married

Why do you want the poem written: I love my wife and I want her to know how much she means to me.
What are the key messages you would like to send: Denise and I have a unique past. We first met over 20 years ago, half a lifetime for me. We met at work and fell in love. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen and she had personality to boot. We dated, we played, we had fun and spent a lot of time together and we got engaged. But things did not work out that time. About 10 years later after we had gone our separate ways (and I thought for good), Denise left a note in my mail box hoping that I would see it and call the number on it. I called her and we agreed to have dinner. The rest is history. We were married a few short months later. Denise had one daughter when we met for the second time that I now proudly claim as my own. Denise and I have had two children together. Out 10th anniversary is the 12th of November and for me it is a very special anniversary indeed. I love my wife very much and want her to know that I do.

| I remember when you were a cashier, and I managed the garden and lawn, and a price check on a yellow fan sprinkler, well, I guess that?s where our love was born. Can you hold it a little higher? You did and I told you the price, and I just wanted to thank you for being you, I?ve never known anyone even half as nice. We had a lot of fun times back then, but sadly, it didn?t work out the first time around, we both had some growing up to do, but now after 20 years, it?s happiness that we?ve found. I?m so glad you left the note in my mail box, a note with such meaning (instead of the usual bill), because it came from the girl I?d always loved, and of course, I know I always will. I called and we agreed to have dinner, and as they say, the rest is history, we were married a few short months later, and ever since, my world has been a great place to be. And I can?t believe 10 years has flown, my! That time has flown by so very fast, but in that time, we?ve journeyed together, and I know that journey?s going to last. Because we?ve had 3 children along the way, and I?m so proud to call them all my own, and we?re all very grateful for your wonderful kindness, we?d like to thank you for the love that you?ve shown. And the 12th November I?ll always remember, and in 2004, it?s an extra special date, because it celebrates our tenth anniversary, ten years side by side, soul-mate by soul-mate. And I just wanted to say I love you, I?ve never really said just how wonderful you are, but if my love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. I also wanted to say Happy 10th Anniversary, I guess that?s really what these words are for, here?s to you, Denise, you?re truly wonderful, here?s to us lifting our love, higher and higher, for evermore. |
