| Hello, our wonderful parents, these words are just for you, because we're proud of who you are, and yes, we're very proud of what you do. And we just wanted to say "we love you", but in truth, we didn't know where to start, so we thought we'd share a few thoughts, and give you some words, straight from the heart. Firstly, we'd like to begin by saying "thank you", we'd like to thank you for everything you've ever done, your love has been our light, our inspiration, in every way, you've been like our morning sun. You've always been there for each and everyone of us, and they've been great moral values that you've instilled, we all feel a very strong sense of family, and that's a great foundation on which to build. Vance, Darlene, Camille and Patrick, my! Look how your mighty oak has grown, just know that we're all very grateful, very grateful for all the love that you've shown. And now, let's count them, there's ten grandchildren, so we all know that we've been truly blessed, and of all the parents and grandparents in this world, we know we're lucky because we have the very best. We'd camp and boat at Twin Lakes every year, it seemed the one constant in a changing life, there our lives grew, changed, became happy, sad, fun and yes, there were a few moments of scary strife. Patrick remembers Dad doing a flying "W" at El Mirage, Mom and Pat Burnidge hiked up to the snow, and we all had so much fun on every visit, it was the one place where we all wanted to go. We remember Dad studying hard for his Captain's exam, and we'd have to take them lemonade and snacks, and we also remember opening the little trailer door, the smoke would roll out and stop you in your tracks. Mom in her blue bathing suit at Lake Mead, I remember the perch nibbling on her leg hair, she didn't mind, she was so happy and contented, marvelous, wonderful summer days, without a care. Before church it was candy, afterwards it was breakfast, Aaahhh! Easter mornings and finding our baskets full, we'd come home to homemade sausage and canoli's, in those days, we never had a moment that was dull. We'll never forget those Sunday spaghetti dinners, in fact, we've too many memories to individually list, just know that everyone is simply precious, there's not one that we would have missed. And we just wanted to say thank you, Mom and Dad, we've never really said just how wonderful you are, but if our love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. We also wanted to say Happy 50th Anniversary, I guess that's really what these words are for, here's to you, Mom and Dad, you're truly wonderful, and here's to having our baskets full, for evermore. |
