Why do you want the poem written: Our 1 year anniversary is about to pass. We are both in the military and have been separated for the entire year we have been married. I want a special way to show him how very much I love him.
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.): Happy & Romantic
What are the key messages you would like to send: I want Chris to know how much I do, and always will, love him. That even though this last year has been very difficult for the both of us, we made it.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: When he asked me to marry him, I thought he was joking. We were on the way back from my parents house for Thanksgiving, and had stopped at a Cracker Barrel to eat. He was telling me about someone he had been in a class with recently who had just gotten married. He said "We should get married" and I laughed at him. He had to ask me a couple times before I believed him. Needless to say we got married.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: That if we can take our first year of marriage apart, we can go through anything as long as we have each other.

| One Day Soon Hello, my wonderful Chris, these words are just for you, because I'm proud of who you are, and I'm very proud of what you do. I just wanted to say "I love you", but in truth, I didn't know where to start, so I thought I'd share a few feelings, and give you some words, they're straight from the heart; Firstly, I'll begin by looking upwards, and thanking those in the heavens above, because I know I've been blessed to have shared you, I know that I've been blessed with your love. I can't believe our first year is up already, but the only thing that separates us are dusty miles, because you're in my heart, each and every day, and I have the warm memory of your heartfelt smiles. I want you to know that I will always love you, in truth, I love you so very, very, very much, and God, how I miss your smell, your warmth, and yes, how I miss your loving and tender touch. I know that this last year has been difficult, scratch that, at times it's been bloody hard, but together, we still made it through, we're intact, and thankfully, neither of us are too battle scarred. I remember when we stopped at the Cracker Barrel, you asked and I thought you were joking at the time, you said: "We should get married" and I just laughed, I'm glad you forgave that rather unthoughtful crime. Because quite sensibly, you asked again and again, and I think they were the wisest words you've ever said, because I know that we're meant to be together, and my happiest day ever, was when we were wed. If we can survive our first year apart, we'll survive everything as long as we have each other, and I just wanted to say "I love you soldier", and don't ever worry, there will never be another. Because truly, I love you with all my "my", I love you dearly, with all my heart and soul, for with you in my life, I feel complete, you are the one that makes me completely whole. I've never really said this before, I've never really said just how wonderful you are, but if my love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. We'll share that star tonight my darling, when it's dark, just go outside and see my light, because there, shining from the very brightest star, there you will see my love, burning so very bright. Never doubt that I'm not there with you, never doubt that you're not in my every thought, and when I fall asleep, you're in my arms, (don't tell anyone about our amazing teleport). Because one day soon, we'll be together again, one day soon, I'll hold you close to me, and in the meantime, I just wanted to say thank you, you've made my world a great place to be. I also wanted to say Happy First Anniversary, I guess that's really what these words are for, here's to you, Chris, you're truly wonderful, and here's to our everlasting love, for evermore. |
