Hi Allen, I love your poetry and wish I had your talent. I would like a
special poem for my mother from me to her. My name is Katy and I'm the
oldest daughter of 7 children, and she gave birth to me at her mother's
house in Tennessee when she was only 16 and my father was only 19. She
lost my father when he was 47 over 25 years ago. She remarried a fine
man, and just two years ago lost Pappy, my stepfather, who never had
children of his own but treated mom's kids as if they were his own. She
misses him very much and now her whole life is centered around her 7
children, 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is a young
still pretty 67 years old. She is the most unselfish person I've ever
known and always thinks of others before herself. Everyday she still
teaches me and my 4 brothers and 2 sisters love, strength, goodness, and
charity in giving to others. Our favourite treat she always made for her
kids growing up was home made chocolate and biscuits which we still look
forward to when we visit her. She believes all bad things will come to
an end, and sees only the positive when things get rough. Her favourite
pastime is recalling memories of growing up in Tennessee very poor with
8 other siblings and of her children growing up part of the time down
there every year at vacation and most of the time in a big city. She
took after the loving ways of her own sweet mother and is best friends
with her three daughters. I hope I've given you enough information to
write something especially for her. I already donate to charity and
will do so again in your honour.
Thank you,
Katy Morrison
| Home made chocolate biscuits, they're still my favourite treat, filled with goodness and your love, there is nothing finer I could eat. You've been my guiding light, you've shone when things were grim, you've never lost the power, to brighten and illuminate the dim. Everyday you teach us, goodness and compassionate charity, you believe in the people of the world, and, with kindness, what it could be. You see only the positives, you know bad things will always end, and you are not just a mother, you are my very best friend. There are thirty seven of us, so far, and many, many more to come, who are (and will be) very happy to know, such a wonderful and very special Mum. |
