Hi! I'm writing to request one of your poems. I want a poem to be written for my favourite teacher, Jennifer Adams. I've had her every year through high school. She's been my teacher
for three Spanish classes and an English class. School is about to start again, and I'll be a senior. She's moving to another county to be closer to her family, so I won't get to see her this year. Mrs. Adams has always been there to talk to me when I needed someone to talk to. She understands the problems I have had, and has always listened to me. She's the one person I feel I can talk to about anything. Somehow she could always sense when something was wrong, and she would invite me to come to her classroom during her planning period or after school to talk about it. I know the senior year of high school is supposed to be the best, but seeing Mrs. Adams every day was the only reason I actually wanted to go back. I wouldn't have her as a teacher this year anyway, but at least I would be able to see her and talk to her.
I just want a poem to let her know how much I am going to miss her, and how much she has meant to me.
| Some people might say, That teaching is just a chore, A job that pays a salary, Nothing less, nothing more. But there is a special teacher, Who has gone that extra mile, There for me with a friendly ear, And a welcoming heart felt smile. So thank you, Jennifer Adams, You've been there to guide me through, You always seem to know what to say, And you've always known what to do. And now that you're leaving us, For some far away foreign shore, No more Spanish lessons, No more por for vore ! But before you go, There is something I'd like to say, Thanks for being my teacher, And taking the time in your day. |
