Who do you want the poem written for: David, my Husband
Why do you want the poem written: Its our 3rd wedding anniversary on 25th June 2005. David is 54 and I am 45 neither of us had been married before. I have two sons (22 and 16) David treats them like his own. I want him to know how much I appreciate all the things he does for them and the rest of my family.
What are the key messages you would like to send: How much I love him and that I always will, how happy I am, how much he has changed my life.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: Our wedding was small (Just us, my best friend and his best man)We both cried in the middle of taking our wedding vows. I drank so much champagne I fell asleep as soon as we got in the room.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: We have owned race horses for a couple of years, (David's dream since he was child and now have become passion of mine) We had some bad luck with them the first year and it was hard for me to cope with David's disappointment. We had our first winner in January this year and things are now looking up for all of them.

Backing Winners
| Hello, David, my wonderful husband, these words are just for you, because I'm proud of who you are, and I'm very proud of what you do. And I just wanted to say "I love you", but in truth, I didn't know where to start, so I thought I'd share a few feelings, and give you some words, straight from the heart: Firstly, I'd like to begin by looking skywards, and thanking those in the heavens above, because I know I've been blessed to have shared you, I know that I've been blessed with your love. Our ages are now quite nearly reversed, you're 54, I'm 45, both divisible by nine, and I just wanted to thank you for being you, you've put the meaning in every line. I really do appreciate everything that you do, so officially, thanks for everything you've ever done, because your love has been my inspiration, my light, in every way, you've been like my morning sun. You've taken to my sons so splendidly, actually, you treat them as if they were your own, and we're all very grateful for all of your kindness, we're very grateful for all the love that you've shown. Do you know how happy you've made me? You've reinvigorated and totally changed my life, and I just wanted to say "I'm proud of you", I'm very proud to be called your wife". I love you more today that I ever have, and I know, that tomorrow, I'll love you even more so, and I know that love will continue to grow forever, but there's a few other things that you should know: I know our wedding was very small, but there was a big feeling, here in my chest, because I knew I was marrying the man of my dreams, and now I know I've married the very best. We both cried in the middle of our vows, I guess all that emotion was impossible to keep, and I also know that I drank too much champagne, and on our honeymoon night, I fell asleep! But I still knew I'd backed a winner, and now you've proved it, as a matter of course, and I know we had some disappointments early on, but now you're the owner of a winning horse. And that's exactly how I feel inside, because I possess a stallion, a real thorough bred, and in my eyes, you've already won The National, and now that just leaves this to be said: David, I think you're truly wonderful, and I've never really said just how wonderful you are, but if my love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. I also wanted to say Happy 3rd Anniversary, I guess that's really what these words are for, here's to you, David, you're truly wonderful, and here's to us both backing winners, for evermore. |
