: She is our precious "Baby Girl" with the determination of a warrior, the laugh of a horse,(we call her 'Whinny', when she gets on a roll of laughter), The quick temper of an angry cat or SOMETHING, The love for all of her friends and family. Jaci and Sam (Samuel Daniel DeVita) have been together for 3 years. She seems so in love with him. She has nurtured him through some sad times because she has been there herself. We want her and Sam to know that it won't always be sunshine and roses. The thorns and thunderclouds will sneak out when you least expect them. You have to get through the bad times. You won't always be happy with each other, but you have to get over the mad/sad stuff and move on with your lives together. Get mad at each other, don't talk for a few days, it's ok. But then get glad again with each other and love each other until the end. (we've beem married for 41 years.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: Jaci Rae was our sweet little dark eyes. They were beautiful from birth. She loved to go get an ice cream with dad in the evenings. She didn't like ballet lessons, but she wanted ballet shoes. She once was going to run away from home because we didn't buy ballet slippers that she wanted while on a shopping trip. She informed us on the ride home, "I'm going to run away when we get home". She packed her little bag and came to the kitchen and said," I'm ready now." I asked her for what and she told me I had to drive her to town. She was running away to a friend's home,(Cleo's house). I took her to town and parked at the curb and told her to go see if they were home. When she was on the porch, I drove off and around the block. When I returned in just moments she was crying and a elder gentleman who was walking by at the time was comforting her and preceded to tell me a woman just drove up, let her out and then drove off. I explained and it has been a laugh all these years. Another funny story follows.
Jaci was showering with me (mom) one day and preceded to tell me that she and I were alike and that her brothers were like dad. "They have tails!" We have had many laughs about that comment. Jaci Rae has endured the loss of life in serveral close friends. She was responsible for planting a tree in memory of a young friend of her's and her younger brother, who died while running on the track at school. She organized a one year rememberance celebration of his life/death at the school. and the planting of "Blake's Tree. She continued to care for the tree until she graduated from high school, and a few years after that. She once ran the Olympic Torch for a distance and handed it off to her older brother, Kyle, as it passed through our state of Oklahoma. They were both very proud to be a part of that event. She gave us numerous wonderful memories as she competed in school athletic events such as cheerleading, basketball, track, cross country, softball, and golf. She was and is an All-American Girl as was she a 2 time All American Cheerleader who performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade when she was a sophomore. We sent her all the way to New York City all by her self to perform.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts : Jaci Rae is very compassionate. At the age of about 12, she saw a homeless man standing on a street corner with a sign saying he was hungry. It touched her heart so much that we had to turn around and drive back in rush hour traffic in Oklahoma City so she could give him the money she had saved for a shopping trip. Sad to say, the man was gone and she cried for a long time that she had missed him. She still to this day, gives to others in that situation.
| Jaci Rae, you?re our precious ?Baby Girl?, and this is something you know by now, of course, we?re so proud of our determined warrior, even though Whinny, you can laugh like a horse. You have the quick and fiery temper of an angry cat, and we?ve learned how to avoid the snap of your claws, but for our precious Baby Girl, we only have love, and for you, we?d like to give you a round of applause. Because you?ve always been so very beautiful, but I guess this comes as no surprise, you took our breath away the day you were born, and you?ve always been our sweet little dark eyes. You used to love to go and get an ice cream with your Dad, and you didn?t like ballet lessons, but you wanted ballet shoes, and once you even threatened to run away, but once at Clea?s house, you realized what you?d lose. I?ll never forget you crying to the elder gentleman, and he was quite concerned that I drove away, but all we created was a laugh over the years, I guess neither of us will ever forget that day. Nor will I ever forget that time in the shower, you know the one, when you explained about boys tails, and both of those stories always make us smile, actually, they still make us laugh ? it never fails! But you?ve also shown your very compassionate nature, and you said it all, by caring for ?Blake?s Tree?, and we?ll never forget that time in rush hour traffic, when you realized homeless is no place to be. Actually, we?re very proud of all your achievements, you were, and still are, an All American girl, you?ve carried The Olympic Torch, you?ve shone at sports, and more than once, you?ve given that baton quite a twirl. You went all the way to New York City, to perform in the Macy?s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Jaki Rae, you?ve been such a blessing in our lives, to have and to hold you, the best decision we?ve ever made. We?re so glad that you?ve found your true love, although life is never a rose filled dream, but if you keep working at it, together, then the two of you will make a remarkable team. And sure it?s okay to get mad at each other, but never let an argument get past your bed, get over the sad and mad stuff and just move on, and after 41 years, they?re the wisest words we?ve ever said. Because Jaci Rae, we really do love you, and we?ve never really said just how wonderful you are, but baby girl, if our love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. And we just wanted to say ?we?re proud of you?, I guess that?s what these words are really for, here?s to you and Sam, you?re truly wonderful, |
