I'd also like to say Happy 75th Birthday,
I guess that's really what these words are for,
here's to you, <NAME>, you're truly wonderful,
and here's to our everlasting love, for evermore.
We just can't understand why you were taken from us,
but I guess in the end, you had to answer God's call,
He obviously had a greater purpose for you up there,
although what you achieved on Earth was by no means small.
And (NAME) is already our squealing little baby,
he too gets excited when we have our cuddle time,
but despite us living in this crappy, old cheap apartment,
we're still finding the reason in our rhyme.
You?ve always been an incredibly honest person,
and honesty has been just one of the lessons that you?ve taught,
but you?ve always been there for both of us,
so we?d like to thank you for your unconditional support.
Seriously, I would like us to be in more of a relationship,
I'd like to explore just where this journey ends,
but just in case, just in case that never happens,
I want you to know I'm also happy to be just friends.
Because then, we were into the baggy clothing,
but now look at us, the "baggies" have gone,
and (NAME), I just wanted to say thanks for being you,
your love for me has always brightly shone.
And that moment is upon us,
after all, 50 years, Mom and Dad were wed,
and we've got some thoughts on our mind,
yes, there's some heartfelt words that need to be said.
Because it's normally you that calls me up,
yet you don't normally want us to get together,
you say you feel guilty about cheating and all that,
but I'm the one who's reaching the end of his tether.
Because I know you felt betrayed by those you trusted,
but now I am glad, you've finally awoke from that haze,
and I know you're enjoying your many new projects,
so I foresee, for us, only the happiest of days.
I remember when you came home and said you were born again,
and I think that rebirth made you a better man,
you seemed kinder, closer, you said ?I love you? more,
and spending time with us became your lifelong plan.
We have a 29 year difference in our age
but that has not stopped us from enjoying each other,
you're my best friend, my confidant,
you're my husband and yes, my lover.
When we were little we used to fight over the telephone,
and then we would end up beating up one another,
we used to make fun of (NAME), (NAME) and (NAME),
in those days, their tight pants would make us run for cover.
Because this message is to meant build you up,
in the end, that's really what these words are for,
here's to you, <NAME>, you're wonderful, Happy Valentines,
and here's to us messaging and massaging, for evermore.
And I know we complained a bit at the time,
but working in the school holidays made us realize,
and those days have formed the basis of my work ethic today,
although I guess by now, this comes as no surprise.
So Happy 75th Birthday,
That's really what these words are for,
here's to you, (NAME), you're truly wonderful,
and here's to our love, for evermore.
Not that you had to ask me the first time,
because it was innate, we simply just knew,
there was no proposal, no rings, just us,
and that's the hyphenated us, me-and-you.
And in your short life, you faced many obstacles,
in truth, there's just too many to individually list,
just know that you've taught us all so very much,
and yes, (NAME), you are going to be sadly missed.
I know you like a drink and a good chat,
but you?ve always given us an ear that?ll understand,
and I know you?ve been a very protective and proud father,
but to be honest, you?re the best Dad in all this land.
I just wanted to say thank you,
I'd like to thank you for everything you've ever done,
I'm sincerely grateful for your love and support,
and I'd also like to thank you for giving us our son.
94 wonderful years full of hard work, fun and excitement,
Vivian was the last of her generation and truly loved by all,
she celebrated life and taught us all to do the same,
and to pick yourself up whenever you stumble or fall.
When I was a little girl,
I always dreamed of this day,
I knew the words off by heart,
I knew exactly what I would say.
We've been apart since our wedding,
a cold wintry morning on (DATE)
but it's only our jobs and circumstance that could separate us,
because only with you, my world's a better place to be.
And we?ll never forget those two torturous days,
I think the Watermelon Wagon was ahead of it?s time,
we remember begging you to pick us up from Surf Beach,
but you still managed to put reason in our rhyme.
But you made many sacrifices for our educations,
because you wanted to give us the very best of starts,
and of all the 52 cards in any one pack,
we?re very lucky, we drew the Kings of Hearts.
You always taught us to love our animals,
especially our poodles (just too many to list),
just know the moments we?ve shared have been precious,
I know Sooky, Buddy, Cadbury and Mandela are sorely missed.
