And one last word of advice,
because, after all, you're hearty and hale,
don't brew too much of that wonderful drop,
your beer called "Little House Ale".
I know you like a beer or twelve,
and after a few, you do make a woeful sight,
and some of your attempts to get home can be desperate,
especially when your car's been impounded overnight !
So now its less stress,
and exercise every day,
he's cutting down on the beer,
and relearning how to play.
I think you had an honesty which was refreshing,
and a love of the simple things in life,
your bike, a beer, a paper, even a snooze,
but most of all, you loved your family, your son and your wife.
(name) is an electrician,
so you could say that he likes a beer,
and boy there are more stories I could tell,
and I will - but not now and not here !

Curtains For <Name>
I'm sorry <Name>,
but it's curtains for you, my friend,
although we're sorry to see you go,
every good story needs a good end.
And as those curtains draw across the stage
and you take your final bow,
there's a few things we should say
and we'll try to say them - somehow.
You see, you are so loyal and dependable,
when you say you're going to do something - it gets done,
you've bought so many successful brands to our shores,
apart from Pierre Cardin (we'll forget that one!)
And from the small beginnings in a loft,
the American Marketing Team has grown and grown,
much of that success, especially in the early years,
was because of all the effort that you've shown.
And you will be sadly missed,
by us and many more
and we just wanted to wish you bon voyage,
that's really what these words are for.
And you may have to batten down the hatches,
especially when the next good blow comes in,
of course you'll manage in your normal style,
effortlessly and with that satisfied grin.
And you've made many an impact,
as you've worked steadfastly over the years,
<Name>, <Name>, <Name,
<Name> (let's not forget <Name>).
And one last word of advice,
because, after all, you're hearty and hale,
don't brew too much of that wonderful drop,
your beer called "Little House Ale".
And now you'll spend more time with <Name>
and you'll sail off to sun soaked climes
and we wish you continued joy and happiness,
just another reason for these rhymes.
In fact, those sails are your curtains
and now you'll have time for many an horizon new,
just know that we'll miss you heaps
and that we're very proud of you.
(NAME) is notoriously reticent,
and we all know he can't handle his beer,
but boy there are some stories I could tell,
and I will - but not now and not here !
^!,
as I know Doug is nervously holding a blue ribbon steer,
but we would like to invite you to his 50th party,
a time for some chow and yes indeed, some beer.
I know you like a beer,
in fact, maybe one or ten,
open a beer, drink it down,
and then you start all over again !
Do You Remember?
At company picnics, raw clams and beer could make you bloat,
(names) and so many others,
just how many men can you get in that yellow boat?
You see, we're all gathered here,
to award the employee of the year,
it's the reason for this gathering,
and why we've ordered in more beer !
Do You Remember?
Sleigh riding down (place),
have a mug of hot chocolate,
and then we'd do it all once again.
Dad would take us grocery shopping on a Saturday,
it was something he did, strangely, year after year,
I guess it was because he liked groceries,
and not because, afterwards, he'd take us for a beer.
