They found some problems that I'd been fighting for years,
and this meant that I could no longer give birth
it broke my heart I couldn't give you a child of your own,
it was about then I found out your true and honest worth.
I really just wanted to thank you,
I'd like to thank you for everything you've ever done,
I'd like to thank you for believing in me,
I'd like to thank you for the birth of our son.
And, on Valentine's Day, we'd get a little box,
and then, simple candy was our heart's desire,
and then, as throughout our life,
his love kept on lifting us higher and higher.
When I was a kid, I was scared of that curtain rod,
because with it, she'd chase me out from under the bed,
and every year, she'd retell the story of my birth,
so now, everybody has heard that tale (so it's been said).
And that moment is upon us,
after all, 40 years ago, (NAME) had his birth day,
and I've got a few thoughts on my mind,
yes, I do have some heartfelt words to say:
You were looking for your Candy Land,
you dug holes in lawns all over the place,
and many an angry neighbour,
got to see that determined look upon your face.
And that moment is upon us,
after all, 60 years ago, Dad had his birth-day,
and we've got some thoughts on our mind,
yes, we do have some funny, heartfelt words to say:
She was reared on a ranch in (PLACE),
raising cattle, horses and her pet lamb
She even worked in the family's store,
pumping gas, selling candy and strawberry jam!
And that moment is upon us,
after all, it is (NAME) 60th birth day,
and I've got some thoughts on my mind,
yes, I do have some heartfelt words to say.
Great is what you are
Right from the very day of your birth,
All of our dreams and love personified,
Never really knew what one child could be worth.
So Dad (and there it is again),
I do have some words to say,
because we both love you so very much,
and after all, it is your son's birth day.
And I'm just so pleased that your life,
has turned out the way that you planned,
you've travelled the globe in your search,
and you've finally found your Candy Land.
You were looking for your Candy Land,
you dug holes in lawns all over the place,

after all, 80 years ago, it was (NAME) birth day,
and I've got some thoughts on my mind,
yes, I do have some heartfelt words to say:
Mom, I'm not pulling on your "urethra",
because I do have a few heartfelt words to say,
and now is as good a time as any,
after all, it's not every day you have your birth-day.
