And (NAME) is already our squealing little baby,
he too gets excited when we have our cuddle time,
but despite us living in this crappy, old cheap apartment,
we're still finding the reason in our rhyme.
Mom's family is simply her life,
she baby-sits and generally helps out,
and she is so very loved by all,
she's taught us all what love is all about.
I remember how we felt when we found out,
and I'll never forget when we saw the baby's scan,
and then we found out that he's a boy, that's our son,
who, one day will grow to become a fine young man.
(NAME), you?re our precious ?Baby Girl?,
and this is something you know by now, of course,
we?re so proud of our determined warrior,
even though Whinny, you can laugh like a horse.
I love the way you take your Baby Book to the library,
I love how you always want to fix everything,
even those things that you have no control over,
these are just some of the many joys that you bring.
You made contact once again,
but the baby was a heavy load,
and distance kept us apart,
and distance can be a lonely road.
Because about a year later, I got pregnant,
but tragically, I lost the baby along the way,
and the doctors had some more bad news for me,
and I'll never, ever forget what they had to say.
So we tried for our beautiful baby,
there was lots of fun but plenty of heartache involved,
but I guess we needn't have worried,
beautiful things often take time to become evolved.
You were married on October 4th, 1953,
and then a year later I came along in 54,
Mom had a very hard and dangerous delivery with me,
and then as a colic baby, I?d cry for evermore.
But I know my baby blankets will go to good use,
and they?ll be treasured for many years to come,
and I know your little stars will be well loved,
when the time is right, they?ll find their Dad and Mom.
So now we have our house and an unexpected baby,
those winds of fates can be little monkeys at times,
but (NAME), I just wanted you to know how happy I am,
yes, you're the one who's put the reasons in my rhymes.
And as you know, baby's can be expensive,
so it'll be out of the blue and into the red,
but I just wanted to say "Thank You"
and maybe that's just enough said.
I?m very proud to be part of this family,
and it wont be that long before my ?earth-day?,
so please don?t forget to send your designs in,
because Baby (NAME), number ten, is on the way.
And I know you like to gossip about everything,
and I think we should include "you" in on that list,
but you're also a baby with pain, such a drama queen,
and cleaning school was a lesson that you missed.
Actually, (NAME), we used to fight over who'd feed and bathe you,
even though your diaper leaked on my lap at Disneyland,
and after a chipped tooth and a banged head, Dad couldn't baby-sit,
but he was always there to lend us a helping hand.
You see, we really wanted another baby,
but we wanted a boy, when all is said and done,
and we're all just so very proud of you,
we couldn't have wished for a better son.
And the whole family has been so excited,
they couldn't wait for our baby to discover planet Earth,
for they too, know your true and honest value,
yes, they know what your love is really worth.
After High School, I moved to another town,
my baby came too early, but some things just won't wait,
put it down to experience,
and one of those little tricks of fate.
And I've driven for 4 hours in a snow storm,
(still a lame excuse not to go home that night),
and we had to ask (NAME) if I could baby-sit,
and thankfully, there's not another chapter for you to write.
You?re a fabulous grandfather and papa,
and I can?t wait until our baby meets you, face to face,
because I know <NAME> and <NAME> love you so,
and you?ve made all our world?s a much better place.
And maybe you don?t like Baby Einstein videos,
but I do know you like to play peek a boo,
and just like we said at the very start
(NAME), we are so very proud of you.
You have the quick and fiery temper of an angry cat,
and we?ve learned how to avoid the snap of your claws,
but for our precious Baby Girl, we only have love,
and for you, we?d like to give you a round of applause.
Because (NAME), we really do love you,
and we?ve never really said just how wonderful you are,
but baby girl, if our love for you were a distance,
then it would be further than the furthest star.
Now there's (NAME), (NAME), (NAME) and (NAME),
the newest member to the Italiano clan,
(NAME), is Daddy's favorite baby girl,
but don't worry, you're still my favorite man.
And, on Valentine's Day, we'd get a little box,
and then, simple candy was our heart's desire,
and then, as throughout our life,
his love kept on lifting us higher and higher.
I'll miss the jokes about "(NAME)",
Your infectious laugh and the stories of your family.
Remember us as your "baby nurses" and the fear on our faces,
Suctioning trachs and "cathing" private places.
I also wanted to say a resounding "thank you",
I think of you and I my heart fills with pride,
I know our baby couldn't have chosen a finer mother,
I know he couldn't - even if he'd tried.
