I love you more than I thought was even possible,
you are my family, my future, my everything, my all,
and it's because of you I walk so much taller,
in fact, with you, I feel like I'm about ten feet tall.
Now you're in your 59th year of marriage to (NAME),
and together, you've worked at your family dream,
and now, with two sons and six grandchildren later,
we're very grateful you're such a wonderful team.
Because you took me home and I never left,
I'll never forget when you took me to meet your family,
you told them you were going to propose,
and they in turn, of course, then told me.
But happiness is nothing less than you deserve,
because you?ve done so much for the whole family,
and Dad I just wanted to thank you for being you,
you?ve made my world a great place to be.
And I know that I took my time in coming,
but all good things come to those who wait,
and that funny feeling you had on Sunday was me,
you see, we were already developing a family trait.
I see you as a peace bringer,
Building from an inner strength,
I guess these words need explaining,
And maybe, at length.
We just wanted to thank you for being you,
and to encourage you to all that you can become,
just know that you're a credit to this family,
and that you have one very proud Dad and one very proud Mom.
That night, eventually we went to bed
and I could see the shadows of your family outside,
they were waiting by the bedroom door listening,
if I said "eavesdropping" would it hurt the family pride?
She was from (PLACE), she was an awesome bowler,
Swedish heritage but became an Italian through and through,
she was proud of her large family (she was an only child),
and all twenty Eight say: "(NAME), we're very proud of you"
(NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME),
(NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), (NAME), and (NAME),
and let's not forget (NAME), (NAME) and (NAME),
(because in this family, there's no such word as can't).
(NAME) is the first date to actually become a part of the family,
and thankfully, we don't just see him on the holidays,
it is quite apparent that he loves (NAME) very much,
and of course, I hope that's the way it always stays.
One of four children in an Italian family,
Lenny (the little kid) soon grew up and roared,
he started the business we all work for,
(but it's only because of us that it's really soared).
Through all of our medical scares and surgery,
God, family and friends have always been there for us,
but especially, we've been there for each other,
and you've always coped with a minimum of fuss.
You both love God, your church family and studying the bible,
and the good book has so very often, shown you the way,
and we're thankful for your many prayers together,
you've helped so many (and you've always known just what to say).
It also seemed to give you the courage to start the business,
it seems like Jesus lit up your path, your destiny,
well, that gave our family more time to be together,
you don?t know what that has meant to me.
I'll miss the jokes about "(NAME)",
Your infectious laugh and the stories of your family.
Remember us as your "baby nurses" and the fear on our faces,
Suctioning trachs and "cathing" private places.
And I know that He keeps you safe on the road,
and there's many seniors that you've driven all around,
you're appreciated by many, especially this family,
we know that it's a pure and precious gem that we've found.
We are so grateful to have you as our parents,
and we do love you with all our hearts and soul,
for you are the ones that have made us complete,
you are the ones that make this family completely whole.
You claim that you're very much in love with me,
yet, for family's sake, you're thinking of going back,
and I know that we're now going nowhere,
I'm having the worst kind of heart attack.
I know you've been on your own since you were 13,
so a real family you have never really known,
I think my goal is to teach you what family is,
and I've succeeded to some extent, as we've grown.
She loved to go "commando" when shopping (inside joke),
and Misty and Snickers are her two dogs that she lived for,
she loved sports, the Boston Celtics and Larry Byrd,
she is the rock of our family (and will be for evermore).
I know that you had to leave friends and family behind ,
because is for now, our place on Earth,
but in our time together, I've discovered your true and honest value,
yes, I know exactly what my wife's love is really worth.
Seriously, I would like us to be in more of a relationship,
I'd like to explore just where this journey ends,
but just in case, just in case that never happens,
I want you to know I'm also happy to be just friends.
We'll never forget the family fishing trips to (PLACE)
and Dad acting like he wanted to catch the biggest and the most,
but he was really happy when we hauled in a big one (Perch don't count),
and Mom made sure we were well fed (as in the evening, we'd naturally boast).
We're so glad we've been able to say "I love you",
even as we've grown older we still say it so many times,
it's because you've created a wonderful, loving family,
you are the ones that have put the reasons in our rhymes.
We started with a small affair at (WEDDING VENUE),
but a few months later we entertained around 1000 guests,
we sought the blessings of the Gods, our family and friends,
well, I reckon that, with honours, we've passed many of the tests
I know that he?d be very proud of you,
and for you, he?d wish only the very best for your life,
because as you know, his life was all about family,
and you?re lucky, you?ve chosen the perfect wife.
We were together for seven years, married for two,
and we were trying to start our own family,
and I know you really wanted to be a Dad,
it's so unfair, I guess it was just not meant to be.
Actually, (NAME) and (NAME) hated each other,
and one time, at the beach, they got into a fight,
but gladly the family feud didn't spoil things,
and soon it was Burger King on a Saturday night.
