Mom certainly knows how to make a quilt,
some are among the grandchildren's treasured keepsakes,
every stitch crafted with love and care,
she simply has all the love that it takes.
We're so proud of your relationship,
the perfect epitome of a husband and wife,
and if I could not have a marriage like yours,
well, then I'd rather be single for the rest of my life!
I see you as a peace bringer,
Building from an inner strength,
I guess these words need explaining,
And maybe, at length.
But now I?ve finally "grown up",
I have discovered what a parent?s love is truly worth,
because the relationship I have with the pair of you,
it?s precious, in fact, it?s the most precious thing on this earth.
But (NAME), thanks for getting my boyfriend to smoke again,
despite your best efforts, I still got him to quit,
but if I had to sum up our relationship in one line,
brother, (NAME), I think this would be it:
We remember not having much money,
but we had riches beyond compare,
we had all the love in the world,
and all our Godly love to share.
Son, we've always had a close relationship,
that was, until you got married, just a year ago,
and now I've got some thoughts on my mind,
yes, there's a few heartfelts that you should know:
You see, I aspire to your kind of relationship,
it's one where the mail is always on time,
it's one where you sing and dance in the kitchen,
even when you can't get your words to rhyme.
Our relationship is the best I've ever had,
you truly are my soul-mate and the love of my life,
I just wanted to say, "I'm proud of you",
and very proud to be known as your wife.
Now, it's been quite hard to spend time with each other,
and that has certainly caused some clouds of gloom,
it would be awkward to have an open relationship,
but I do enjoy those moments in my operating room.
But it took us 17 long years to reconnect,
and in Princeton, we re-found what we?d once lost,
but since then, we?ve suffered a long distance relationship,
but that was the pact we made (and we knew the cost).
You laid some pretty solid foundations,
on which I find myself building upon,
and your love for each other has been my inspiration,
as your love for me has always brightly shone.
Seriously, I would like us to be in more of a relationship,
I'd like to explore just where this journey ends,
but just in case, just in case that never happens,
I want you to know I'm also happy to be just friends.
So I wasn't looking for a relationship,
but like that ship, I didn't account for the winds of fate,
and now I'm just so thankful for those favorable breezes,
because of them, I've finally found my soul-mate.
Let us learn new things about life,
but most importantly, let's learn about us,
let's share our appreciation and inspiration,
and let us keep building our mutual trust.
Our adversities have only made our relationship stronger,
and where are the doubters who said we?d never last?
And I?m proud we ate MREs and slept on a poncho,
no one can ever take that from us, that?s our past!

I really do value our relationship,
I need your love and support to make me complete,
I can't imagine my future without you,
it's a future that I never, ever want to meet.
Because I think our relationship is extraordinary,
(NAME) Raisin and Dop-a-dee-dee,
he's given me so much throughout my life
and he means the very world to me.
(NAME), you're such a Godly woman,
and the Lord has given you such a role on this Earth,
you listen to other's problems with a loving heart,
and yes, we do appreciate your true and honest worth.
Dad taught us early how to operate farm equipment,
he was always very patient with his "farm hands",
he'd even let us drive tractors into the side of a building,
and yet he'd still give us an ear that understands.

Actually, the children have made it easy for us to come together,
and because of them, our relationship has soared,
and I guess we've had some very worthy blessings,
because we did meet in the house of The Lord.
