you are my love, my very best friend,
and I just wanted to say "I love you",
(I may do so before these lines have their end).
I've gone from not caring to highly driven,
you're my oil, you're my motor, my v eight,
but much more that, you're my best friend,
my lover, my confidant, my very own soul-mate.
Actually, we were the cause of much bickering,
but my mother usually gave up in the end,
we were good manipulators when needed,
and when in need, Dad was always our friend.
You see, I know that Mom loves you very much,
and she tells me you're the best friend she's ever had,
and me, well, I know I'm the luckiest lad on Earth,
because I have you as my father, my Dad.
(NAME), I love you more than anything,
you are my love, my very best friend,
and I just wanted to say "I love you",

Because I just can't live without you,
you are my wife, my lover, my very best friend,
and I promise, I'll treat you like a queen for all eternity,
just please, please, don't let our marriage end.
You?ve been a true rock to (NAME) and I,
but more than a Dad, you?ve been our friend,
and you?ll always have our respect, our love,
long after these earthbound journeys have their end.
We've both come a long way from (PLACE),
that's where we walked and talked, getting to know one another ,
that's where we discussed trust, support and the BIG STEP that's where I fell
in love with my lifelong friend and lover.
And I just wanted to tell you how much you mean to me,
that I want to repay the wonderful gentleness that you've shown,
you're my best friend, my lover, my soul-mate, my husband,
and it's because of your love that the orchid has grown.
Seriously, I would like us to be in more of a relationship,
I'd like to explore just where this journey ends,
but just in case, just in case that never happens,
I want you to know I'm also happy to be just friends.
However, it wasn't shining so brightly on your birthday,
if I recall (you won't remember), you were twenty one,
so wasted, you had to be carried up the stairs by a friend,
that night, certainly, your drinking days were done.
We have a 29 year difference in our age
but that has not stopped us from enjoying each other,
you're my best friend, my confidant,
you're my husband and yes, my lover.
But no worries, we'll always have (PLACE),
and I know, in my heart, I will always have you,
so (NAME), for now, I'd better sign off,
your friend, forever and ever, C.W.
But if the decision doesn't go my way,
then I'm going to need my own healing time,
and for a while, I won't be the friend you need,
it may take an age to get my words to rhyme.
So, you come home and rub her feet,
and I'll tell you, we both felt the benefit of that,
and for the record, Mom married her best friend in St.Lucia,
Mom says you're all man plus more (a matter of fact).
I am the happiest when I am with you
and when you're not here I feel so very sad,
just know, my love, you are unforgettable,
(and simply the bestest friend I've ever had)
Because, right now, I'm in so much pain,
I just can't imagine you as just a friend,
as I know I've love you beyond forever,
long after our earthbound journey's end.
I know you're both nervous about being parents,
but you'll find it'll come naturally and those worries will end,
and Dad already knows that he's so very lucky,
(because he's married his very best friend).
