And I love you more today,
I'm proud of your wedding ring,

I'll never forget our engagement dinner,
but your proposal got delayed by my surprise,
so you proposed to me at 3 am in the morning,
of course I said "yes" (after I'd wiped the sleep from my eyes).
And may the Lord's love become a part of this ring,
so that I'm reminded of you both, every time I look at my hand,
because if I said I was lost, but now I'm found,
I think those are words you will surely understand.
Because over that year our love has evolved,
and it's grown to become this beautiful, living thing
and I just wanted to say that I'm proud of you,
I'm very proud that you're wearing my wedding ring.
So this trip is second time around,
and that has got an historic ring,
but you've got to leave that baggage,
and get a new suitcase to bring.
I'll never forget our beautiful wedding, but you were so nervous,
I couldn't get your ring on because of your shaking and sweaty hands,
but all of the girls made a tribute to you to say how great you are,
and those are words that everybody really understands.
She never quite got out of bulk buying,
we?d open the cupboard and the shampoo could last for years,
and (NAME) also had a love of gadgets, new gizmos,
although the Flobe ended up with some tragic tears.
Now tom used to love to hunt and fish,
and he taught (NAME) those mighty fine arts,
he also loved to cook and try new things,
and (NAME)?s inherited his love of messy tarts.
Tom was also a natural born salesman,
and he was always looking for a deal to be made,
and as different as the three of them were,
we?d like to thank them for the roles they?ve played.
Because the things that are the same about them ring loud,
they raised their kids to be individuals, each their own,
they loved being with family and friends, loved having fun,
and that?s an important lesson that they?ve shown.
So please wipe away any of those tears,
and replace them with a big smile upon your face,
because I know they all liked to party,
and I?ve heard, that now, heaven?s quite a happening place.
So, Happy First Anniversary,
one down, with many more to follow
and I?m so glad that your ring is on my finger,
because it would have been just too hard to swallow.
You own a spa, massages, facials, make up,
personal training, you know, that sort of thing,
but there's something missing in your life,
even though you're wearing that wedding ring.
But that's not how it is with you, my darling,
because you are my all, my everything,
I thank God every day for sending you to me,
and one day, I will be honored to wear your ring.
And that's nearly as far as Boston to New Jersey,
do you remember how you used to drive that every weekend?
That's not the act of someone that "hates" me,
that's more the devotion of a lifelong friend.
And what of our future ?
I don't know what it'll bring.
But I just want you to know,
I'm proud to wear your wedding ring.
She loved to go "commando" when shopping (inside joke),
and Misty and Snickers are her two dogs that she lived for,
she loved sports, the Boston Celtics and Larry Byrd,
she is the rock of our family (and will be for evermore).
But that's not how it is with you, my darling,
because you are my all, my everything,
I thank God every day for sending you to me,
and one day, I will be honored to wear your ring.
And from our engagement to our wonderful wedding,
well, I guess that?s for another story to be told,
because I know we?ll share many more magical moments,
because (NAME)., it?s with you I?m going to get gray and old.
We just wanted to say "thank you",
we'd like to thank you for simply everything,
because you are simply wonderful parents,
and you put the gold in each other's wedding ring.
Because with this ring I solemnly promise to you,
I promise to love you more, on each and every day,
and I promise, I've never, ever felt more certain,
and apart from "I love you", I have nothing left to say.
