You gave me the courage to follow in your steps,
and at the end of day, that?s the greatest gift of all,
as Dad, because of you I walk taller,
in fact, I feel like I?m ten feel tall!
Well, I think "you", are indeed, my real gift,
because I love you truly, with all my heart and soul,
for with you in my life, I feel complete,
you are the one that makes me completely whole.
You have this habit, no, like we said, it's a wonderful gift,
you have an ability to put the air under people's wings,
and a few words from you can make our hearts soar,
but that's only part of the magic that (NAME) brings.
Well, I think "you", are indeed, my real gift,
because I love you truly, with all my heart and soul,
for with you in my life, I feel complete,
you are the one that makes me completely whole.
Because you have persistently and consistently loved us,
and it seems like 'you' is always the last thing on your mind,
you have this wonderful gift of being able to inspire,
and we know that's a treasure and so very hard to find.
I know you both love watching men's college basketball
and you also watch a lot of football, I know,
and thanks to your "football class", Mom's now an expert,
she can spot the penalties before the ref has had a chance to blow.
We will love and support you always,
we'll pick you up if you happen to scrape your knee,
but in the meantime, we just wanted to say Happy Graduation,
and thanks (NAME), you make the world a great place to be.
And you're such a perfect gent, a true romantic,
your little presents always give me a such lift,
and you've told me that even when we're married,
you said that you'll still make a point of giving me a gift.
But we managed to get through that year,
and the next year you moved down the street from me,
you bought me a puppy, (NAME), for my birthday,
and truly, that was the best gift there ever will be.
So (NAME) put herself through college,
and she was an elementary teacher for 34 years,
she loved her job and was proud of her achievement,
she seemed to thrive on the tantrums and the tears.
So know that I've finally forgiven you,
(and that's a pretty good place to start),
and please accept my birthday gift of love,
some forgiving words from the heart !
She loved the Lord and shared that gift with us all,
she had a big heart and taught us all how to give,
she was always thinking of and doing for others,
in truth, I think she taught us all how to live.
You are the greatest gift on earth,
in fact, a gift from God above,
and now I know the meaning of marriage,
and now I know the meaning of true love.
We went to college in (PLACE) and you quickly followed,
and that's where you decided you no longer wished to roam,
you're a great grandfather, you love everyone immensely,
but you do let your grandkids take over your home.
Our telepathy is such a beautiful gift,
and it's one that I treasure and behold,
and I'm so looking forward to our future,
to our future stories, as yes unwritten and untold.
He always made a point of coming to my sporting events
and was an avid fan of the dreaded school plays
and he lent me his car so I could get home from college,
you see, he's helped me in so many ways.
Truly, I think you're a gift from God for (NAME) and I,
so gratefully, I will turn my eyes to the heavens above,
because I know I've been blessed to have shared you,
I know that I've been blessed with your love.
I remember your beautiful speech and the chocolates,
and never has there been a more thoughtful gift,
but I just got embarrassed and then pathetically angry,
now I just realize you were trying to give me a lift.
Mother was (PLACE) homecoming queen,
and they met in college in (NAME) State,
they married and moved to (PLACE), (PLACE),
two young lovers blown along by the winds of fate.
She loved the Lord and shared that gift with us all,
she had a big heart and taught us all how to give,
she was always thinking of and doing for others,
in truth, I think she taught us all how to live.
So (NAME) put herself through college,

But you've always given us so much in our lives,
in truth, you've given the greatest gift, that's your time,
you still go to every school and sporting event,
truly, you've put the reason in every rhyme.
So (NAME) put herself through college,

she seemed to thrive on the tantrums and the tears.
He marveled in the miracle of medicine,
when my twins miraculously pulled through
and he, like them, is a gift from God
and you should know that we're all very proud of you.
Maybe we should have put it in our gift baskets,
but I guess we were busy enough just with the flowers,
I remember Dad helping mom and I with the deliveries,
and he'd still make us laugh (after working all hours).
Your gift for entertaining is legendary,
it's what legends are all about,
you bring the whole family together,
Martha Stewart had better watch out!
